AD - The history

AD (Anno Domini), born Eddy Mihigo, was born in the early hours of the 20th of september in Kinshasa, DROC. He lived his childhood there and moved to zambia in 1994. this is where AD started rhyming and honing his skill as an Mcee. At 16, he hooked up with the Pyramid Ryders, a young up and coming group that consisted 9 members, with AD being one of the youngest. Influenced by the Bone thugs n harmony and the Wu tang Clan, AD wrote some of the sickest most descriptive lyrics and was quickly respected for his witty metaphors and graphic description entailed in his contents. after two years with the pyramid ryders, AD broke away from the crew as he began to search for something that had mass appeal. He became part of another group, the K.E.M.O clan with his friends Kabie, Miji and Obed. His flow started having that swagger and confidence to it and he was finally learning how to make a crowd bounce. This is when he started freestyling. After high school, AD took some time off from the public eye and went into hiding for almost a year. He moved to botswana in 2002 and there started writing even more, he moved from being lyrical to being poetic. His lyrics still as sharp as ever, and now greatly influenced by the Wu, AD moved to namibia in 2003 and there started freestyling regularly at the local university station. He was soon regarded as the tightest to ever free on the radio, but still had to prove himself in the booth... with a couple of failed projects with RV Inc. AD continued to grow as an Mcee throughout 2003 and in 2004, he featured on a remix of the RV Inc. track 'save my soul', here using on a his traditional 'bone flow'. AD also featured on the Faizel Mc tracl 'it's a party', showing the masses his versatility by rapping in French. With his buzz growing, he continued to work and in 2005, AD worked with eraze and GA SEXION on a couple of tracks. In botswana, AD is helping a group make it onto the local scene while still pushing himself lyrically at all times. Towards the end of 2005, AD won his first freestyle battle in namibia, proving to be one of the top 10 Mcees in the country. As 2006 came, AD signed with X - Life records, working with Xavier Kwalli. the two, a dynamic duo are still in the works to release the XD mixtapes. In the third quarter of 2006, AD won the first ever Mc59 freestyle competition in Windhoek, establishing himself as the top Mcee in the country and bagging 1000 namibia dollars (roughly US$150) and an all paid trip to a Jay - Z show in South Africa. Currently, AD is focused on finishing his XD mixtapes, working with labelmates Stone and Silva slim and also the likes of eraze, MCX, the scientist and Bric. The future looks bright for this Mcee.
